As mentioned on my home page, I had the intention of re-organizing my website. Due to work, art projects and general everyday life, I hadn’t had time to do anything in that regard.
Until today, that is.
While the changes are not big, I have done some shuffling. While it’s not much, it’s a start.
So there’s that. There’s also the fact that at my workplace, I started an art project that I’m pretty excited about.
Normally, I don’t get a chance to do much in the way of visual creativity at work, so this is a great opportunity.
The project is now halfway done and I did have plans of doing a blog series following my progress but, again, my old friend Time was not cooperating with me (does he ever?).
So what I’ve decided to do is post my new blog series posthumously, so to speak. What I mean to say is that I’m going to post articles according to the day they actually took place, so even though a post may say it was created December 20th, 2013, it was actually posted weeks or even months later.
It will be very much in the same vein as my Painting Process blog series (which still has yet to be completed). I’ll be writing about what occurred each day and my thought process at the time, what obstacles I might have faced, and so on and so forth.
I must say that I’m glad that I decided to open the doors to what used to be an intensely private world for me. I find myself more willing to let people have a peek behind the curtain and see everything that’s involved in creating the kind of art that I make.
You’ll see everything, warts and all. Normally I would never let anyone see a work in progress, the world would only see the final result and assume everything went smoothly. That rarely happens, if ever.
So feel free to follow along as I piece together a journey that was started and already completed. Well, the first half of it, anyway.
I’ll start it soon, I’m not entirely sure when I’ll complete the first half of this series, though. Whenever time permits, I guess. Stay tuned.
